Rotherham United have sent forward Jamie Proctor out on loan to League Two side Newport County – subject to EFL and FA ratification and international clearance – until January next year.

July 2017 saw Jamie arrive at the New York Stadium from Bolton Wanderers for an undisclosed fee but managed just six appearances in his first season before being out injured with a cruciate ligament injury. The following season he scored four times in eighteen appearances but a Boxing Day injury saw his season finish early.

Last season Jamie played a handful of games before September saw him go out on loan to Scunthorpe playing fourteen times before finishing the season with National League side Fylde.

Jamie announced, a few weeks ago, that he was keen to have plans in place by the time he hangs up his boots – which isn’t expected to be anytime soon – and already having degrees in sports journalism and business he is offering coaching session to children in both Rotherham and his home town of Preston.

All at Vital Rotherham wish Jamie ‘all the best’ in his loan spell at Newport.
