Rotherham United make their first trip of 2016 to Deepdale to take on Preston North End today.

The Millers go to Preston on the back of a four-one away defeat at Fulham although, in all honesty, it wasn’t that bad a performance while Preston will be high on confidence after beating high fliers Hull City on Monday at Deepdale.

Rotherham’s last away win was in November at Elland Road with Preston not having lost at home since mid-November.

Preston are in seventeenth place with twenty-eight points while the Millers are out of the relegation places on goal average with twenty-one points.

Vital Quotes:

Simon Grayson – Redders (Neil Redfearn) has gone to Rotherham and knows what he needs to do with that football club. We have had some tough battles with them over the last couple of seasons, but we have to be respectful and make sure that we put on a performance like we did against Hull. It is vital that we start the game right; play with a tempo with and without the ball and hopefully get another three points

Neil Redfearn – Preston are an organised side and will be difficult to break down. Simon Grayson has been at this level of football for a long time and he’s a good manager who brought Preston up. They are a big club with a good following and I think it will be a tight game. We’re in a run of good form and we’ve got to keep the organisation right and be potent going forward.

Preston North End Team News:

Simon Grayson will be without Adam Reach who is back to his parent club Middlesbrough but Paul Huntington and Alan Browne could be back after injuries. Chris Humphrey, Jermaine Beckford and Stevie May are all out with long term injuries.

Player to watch: Paul Gallagher

Forward who will want to add to his goal he scored against Hull on Monday.

Rotherham United Team News:

Rotherham are going to be without Frazer Richardson who is suffering from concussion and Leon Best is definitely out with it looking like he’ll be having an operation on a groin problem. And the game could come a little too soon for Stephen Kelly who had a relapse of a calf injury but could mean a rare outing for Richard Wood who was recalled from a loan spell at Chesterfield this week.

Player to watch: Farrend Rawson

Will need the young lad to become a ‘mister’ for this game and helping to keep a clean sheet
