Rotherham United have five players out on loan at the moment so let’s have a quick look at how they are doing.

Defender Curtis Tilt went on loan at the end of August to fellow League One outfit Wigan Athletic, after spending much of the previous season with them, helping them avoid relegation. The thirty year old has made six appearances for the Latics, one in the EFL Cup, one in the Papa John’s Trophy and three League games where he has scored in two of them and came off the bench on just twenty minutes in their FA Cup game at the weekend but didn’t appear for the second half having a knee and thigh injury.

Nineteen year old Jake Hull has been with the Millers since he was sixteen and had a loan spell with Matlock last season. He joined National League North side Guiseley at the start of this season and has played a number of games for them, including away at Wimbledon in the FA Cup on Saturday. In between playing for Guiseley Jake has been back at the New York Stadium and made three appearances in the Papa John’s Trophy scoring in our games against Doncaster Rovers and a Manchester City U21 side.

Also at Nethermoor Park is Jacob Gratton who missed most of 2020 with a cruciate knee ligament injury just a month after signing his first professional contract. The nineteen year old midfielder has made a number of appearances for Guiseley including coming off the bench for the FA Cup game on Saturday.

Jake Cooper joined the Millers in 2015 and had already had loan spells with Gateshead and Hartlepool before joining Darlington of the National League North side in September. His first game for the Quakers didn’t end well when he got a straight red in the final minutes of the game resulting in his missing three games. Defender Jake has played five other games for Darlington scoring twice (plus an own goal).

Unibond Premier League side Matlock Town took young forward Jerome Greaves on loan in August. Jerome made three appearances, scoring twice, before an hamstring injury side lined him for a while. He came off the subs bench before starting the last two games, scoring against Whitby on Saturday.

Thanks to MIKE for keeping us up to date on Vital of what’s happening with our loaned out players!
