Rotherham United make the journey to the Hawthorns to take on West Bromwich Albion for their last away fixture of the season.
Rotherham’s last league game at the Hawthorns was in February 2004 in Division One when a Chris Sedgwick goal on seventy-three minutes, who caught the Russell Hoult off his line and dipped it over him, gave Rotherham all three points.
A Sunday in April 2002 saw the Millers come away with a point from a West Brom who had won their previous five games and who were looking like they would be in the Premier League the next season. Bob Taylor gave the hosts the lead in the first half but a second half strike from Darren Byfield, who was making his Millers debut, gave Rotherham a point. It might have actually been two-two if linesman David Hines had actually seen that an eighty-first minutes shot from Jordao had gone over the line for the hosts before Chris Sedgwick cleared it while at the other end Sedgwick hit the post.
The last time the Millers were at The Hawthorns was in August 2009 in the Carling Cup. Craig Beattie put the host one up on ten minutes but Micky Cummins brought the Millers level nineteen minutes later. The Baggies went back in front six minutes into the second half but a minute later the Millers were level again this time thanks to a Tom Pope goal. The game went into extra time and Pope put Rotherham in front for the first time but another goal from Beattie plus one from Simon Cox saw West Brom go through to the next round.
The first time the Millers met at the Hawthorns was in League One in October 1992. The game ended two-two with Mark Todd scoring both Millers goals.
The game at the New York Stadium earlier in the season was a four-nil win for the Baggies. Dwight Gayle bagged a hat-trick with Harvey Barnes getting the other.
