Freddie Signs In

|

Rotherham United have brought in Freddie Ladapo from Plymouth Argyle for what is thought to be a club record.

After coming through the youth ranks with Colchester the now twenty-six-year-old had loan spells with Thurock and Chelmsford City before signing a professional deal at the JobServe Community Stadium in March 2012. He made just a handful of appearances for Colchester and while there also had loan spells with Bishop’s Stortford, Woking and Nuneaton Town before signing a deal with Kidderminster Harriers in January 2014. While with the Harriers Freddie had time on loan with Hayes and Yeading United and Grays Athletic before going on to play around fifty games for Margate. After a trial with Crystal Palace he signed a two and a half year deal with the Eagles once again finding himself out on loan with Oldham Athletic and Shrewsbury Town.

In January 2018 the tall forward joined Southend United but after ten appearances he was released by the club and joined Plymouth. Last season he made forty-nine appearances for Argyle and with nineteen goals was their top scorer, three times scoring twice in matches.

With Portsmouth dropping out of the race for Freddie it is thought the Millers beat League One rivals Sunderland to the signing.

All at Vital Rotherham welcome Freddie to the New York Stadium.
