Dan A Wanted Man – Again

Rotherham United have a number of players out of contract in the summer and, already, one of those is causing a bit of a stir.

It shouldn’t be a surprise to know that Dan Barlaser is that player. Since joining the Millers in 2020 it seems that at every transfer window the twenty-five year old has been linked with this club and another and in August the club reportedly turned down a £1 million bid for the midfielder while Blackpool and Hull City were thought to have asked about him.

Now Football Insider are saying that Middlesbrough are ‘plotting’ a move for him.

As we start playing football again at the weekend, after the World Cup break, ‘Boro are one place above Rotherham in the Championship and will be hoping to push on in the New Year. Of course, the Millers will be hoping the same and need to keep as many of the players as we can.

I think the Millers have put a lot into Dan Barlaser and to let him go for nothing would be a crying shame – so, would it be better to cut our losses in the January window?

The move would also have a lot going for it for the player himself as it’s nearer his childhood home and family.

Of course, I’d love it if Dan signed a new two year deal at the New York Stadium – but for him to do that I think the club has really got to make it worth his while. And, will we do that?  I’d like to think so.

Get ready because come January we are going to lose our prize assets, barlaser , ogbene are a nailed on cert and possibly wiles , of course we operate on the chirpy chirpy cheap cheap and replacements will be from the bargain basement bucket if any , good old Tony Stewart consistent if nothing else in running the club Ebenezer Scrooge would be proud of , bah humbug.
