This South Yorkshire derby League Cup game when Sheffield Wednesday are the visitors to the New York Stadium sees Charles Breakspear from Surrey in charge in the middle.

Charles began his refereeing in his local county of Surrey coming through the ranks including the Blue Square Premier League which he was promoted from in 2013.

This will be just the second time Charles and the Millers have met, the first time being the first game of 2016 when Rotherham travelled to Deepdale to take on Rochdale. Shay Facey, on loan from Manchester City, made his debut for Rotherham with Tony Andreu putting the Millers in front on the thirty-fifth minute. Unfortunately for the visitors Eoin Doyle equalised midway through the second half with an own goal in the final minute of the game from the head of Jonson Clarke-Harris giving Preston all three points.

Mr Breakspear seems to like cards because In the six games he has been in the middle for this season he has shown twenty-eight yellow cards and four red cards, one of those being to Jerry Yates on loan to Swindon from the Millers.

Running the late on Wednesday evening we have Peter Gooch and Paul Hobday with the Fourth Official being Geoffrey Liddle.
