Rotherham United’s attacking winger Chieo Ogbene has been called up by the Republic of Ireland for the first time.
Born in Nigeria the now twenty-four year old moved with his family to Cork at a young age and played for Cork City then Limerick before moving to England with Brentford. Chieo signed for the Millers in the summer of 2019 and was set to continue the good work he’d had the season before when he was hit with a knee injury in training after just five games that kept him side lined until April.
Chieo has been called-up for the Republic of Ireland’s friendly games against Andorra and Hungary early next month.
