Rotherham United centre-back Cameron Humphreys said it was ‘amazing’ to be back playing football.

The twenty-five year old, who hadn’t kicked a ball since a hamstring tear saw him limp off the pitch against Preston in September, came off the bench for the last ten minutes at Elland Road yesterday, although, by that time the Millers were already three down.

Speaking to Radio Sheffield after the loss yesterday, Cam said, ‘I’m happy to be back but it was a shame about the result.’

Asked about the injury he said that as soon as he felt it he knew it was serious, as we the fans did when he went down, saying, ‘It was a long process and at the start it was difficult because you are bed bound and can’t do much. I was on crutches for around eight weeks but you have to stay strong and positive and know that there’s light at the end of the tunnel. It wasn’t easy but I’m glad to be back and hopefully I can help the boys get out of where we are now.

‘There’s a lot of games coming up and things can change in an instance. We just need a good run of games. I’m ready whenever I’m needed but, obviously, it’s up to the manager.’

Great news that Cam is back among the lads and great to see him on the pitch. The Millers are in need of a miracle right now and maybe, just maybe, Cameron Humphreys can be that miracle.

Up The Millers.
