Rotherham United’s second in command Richie Barker said that the points the Millers got at Nottingham Forest last night was ‘a very good point’.

And it was a good point. I don’t think there is any denying that any of us would have taken one-one at the start of the game.

‘We’re unbeaten away from home,’ Richie told iFOLLOW, ‘and after the work ethic from the players on Saturday to come here and do the same three days later I think it’s an excellent point.’

Unbeaten away from home sounds great doesn’t it but a bit of a niggle in your mind has to be that all those points we’ve got away we’ve scored first and not been able to hold on. I hope that bit of the game comes because in this division we need to be able to defend a lead more than ever. It also begs a bit of a question about our home form too.

Richie admitted we had a bit of luck at the City Ground last night but said he thought his players were ‘extremely brave’ putting their bodies on the line saying, ‘I thought we probably nicked a point tonight but to get so far into the season when a team have scored which hasn’t been an own goal or a penalty is pretty good play really.

‘The players did everything we asked them to do, they worked extremely hard and, at the moment, we are mixing it with some very big clubs and holding our own. I’m proud of their work ethic and the desire of the players not to get beat.’

I think that’s called ‘team spirit’.
