Rotherham United are going to be without Curtis Tilt and Jamie Proctor when the new season begins – which is expected to be sometime in September.

Defender Tilt joined the Millers from Blackpool in January but, due to a minor injury, didn’t get a game until March away at Rochdale where he played sixty minutes and since then the Coronavirus has kept him out. Since that game he has had an operation on a hip problem and is expected to be out until at least October.

Jamie Proctor is also expected to be out for some months after having a knee operation, though I don’t know how much he would be fitting into next years plans anyway as he was out on loan most of last season, firstly with Scunthorpe United before finishing the season with National League outfit Fylde.

There is good news with Michael Ihiekwe not having any ill effects, according to Millers Boss
Paul Warne from the knee injury that kept him out of Rotherham’s last game and it seems that Clark Robertson has got over his broken foot.

The Gaffer also says that Matt Crooks and Michael Smith have come back in ‘amazing shape’ as has midfielder Shaun MacDonald who had a bit of an injury stop-start year last season. Warney was also impressed with the fitness of new boy Mickel Miller.

More good news is that defender Billy Jones has agreed new terms with the Millers while
goalkeeper Lewis Price isn’t far off doing the same.
