A Look At The Stats – Millers Away At Barnsley

|

Rotherham United lost yet another game in April and again it was by just one goal but the, like Millers Manager Paul Warne I really feel we should have been coming home from Oakwell with something this evening.

The stats after the one-nil loss to Barnsley say that Rotherham had fifty-six per cent of possession and won as many duels, on the ground and in the air, as the club who are in the top six of the Championship. The Millers also had nine corners to the host’s three.

Our passing accuracy in our opponents half comes out at forty-four per cent – Barnsley’s was twenty-eight per cent – with our crossing accuracy being thirty-one per cent to the Tykes’ eight.

Barnsley had seven shots on goal, two of which were on target with Rotherham having sixteen shots on goal with seven on target and twelve of those shots were inside the box. Both sides conceded fifteen fouls with three yellow cards going to the Millers and two to the hosts.

What I do think was good today was that of those sixteen chances we had on goal we made every one of them. We fought for them. To be honest I wasn’t looking forward to this game, I felt we’d miss Crooks yet, weirdly, although we lost it might be strange to say I quite enjoyed the game. Yes, I do feel annoyed, I do feel sad but I now can’t wait for Tuesday night – though, of course, I might feel different on Wednesday morning!

Keep The Faith.
