Who Stays, Who Goes

Rotherham United have announced their retained list for next season.

In contract and staying at the New York Stadium are Trevor Clarke, Matt Crooks, Michael Ihiekwe, Freddie Ladapo, Jamie Lindsay, Joe Mattock, Shaun MacDonald, Chiedozie Ogbene, Matt Olosunde, Jamie Proctor, Clark Robertson, Michael Smith, Adam Thompson, Curtis Tilt, Kyle Vassell, Ben Wiles, Richard Wood and youngsters Joshua Kayode, Jake Cooper, Jacob Gratton while the club are in talks with goalkeeper Lewis Price and defender Billy Jones.

The Millers have activated an option on striker Jerry Yates’ contract for another year with winger Julien Lamy and goalkeeper Laurence Bilboe out of contract and leaving.

I don’t think there is much of a surprise in any of this to be honest although I do feel a little sorry for Lamy who I don’t think has had much of a chance, although, of course, we don’t see what the management team see in training and my eyebrows went up a little when I read the club are in talks with Price and letting Bilboe go – I honestly though Price would have moved in among the back room staff and again the young ‘keeper hasn’t had a lot of game time has he.

In the local news Paul Warne did say he was looking at fetching in eight new players. Whether we will sign eight we will have to wait and see.
