Warne Pleased To Get Carlton Back

|

Rotherham United’s first pre-season (or is it still pro-season?) signing is a familiar face to Millers fans with Carlton Morris back for his second loan spell.

On loan from newly promoted Norwich City, the now twenty-three year old first joined Rotherham at the end of January 2017 but, due to an injury and a lot of ‘he’ll be here next week’s’ he finally made his debut in March 2017. Carlton finished the season with eight Rotherham appearances under his belt.

The following season he spent on loan at Shrewsbury finding the net ten times in fifty-four games but went off the pitch at Wembley against the Millers in the League One Play-Off Final with cruciate ligament damage. This kept him out of the game for most of last season where he played just a handful of games for the Canaries U23 side.

Carlton signed a one year contract extension with Norwich City and was sent straight out on loan to the Millers with Rotherham Manager Paul Warne telling the Official Site, ‘He knows the club and got the perfect character for us.’

Warney also said that he can play up front in a two or three (Ed Note – when do we play three up front?! or on his own. He also thanked Norwich City for sorting the loan out early so that Carlton can join up with the lads for pre-season.

Let’s hope this is the first of many to join the Millers before the pre-season begins – it has to help to get your squad together early enough for them to get used to each other.

Meanwhile there have been rumours that former Boss Neil Warnock is eyeing up Will Vaulks to play for his relegated Cardiff City side next season. After other rumours towards the end of the season saying Will was off here and there I can actually see this happening. It surely wouldn’t hurt his Wales chances actually playing in the country would it? Although other Teamtalk are saying that neighbours Sheffield United are ‘chasing’ him.
