Warne Looking Over His Shoulder

|

Rotherham United Manager Paul Warne has told the Yorkshire Post that he knows his job isn’t safe.

Although the Millers started the season well, injuries to ‘big’ players and a lot of big games in a short space of time have left Rotherham United without a win since 7th November and hanging on to their place just out of the relegation zone. December has seen three losses so far with just one goal scored but we have had chances – it’s just putting those chances away that seems to be a difficulty – that and the fact that we only seem to have been able to play for half a game.

Of course the Gaffer is going to feel under pressure – it’s football, every manager who doesn’t win games is going to be under pressure from non-league to Premier League – and when asked how he felt about his job he replied, ‘I’m not feeling great about it, why would I?

‘Whether I think I’m overachieving, whether I think being out of the bottom three is good or not, it’s not what I think, it’s what the owner thinks.’

Well in this week’s Rotherham Advertiser the owner, Tony Stewart says that he ‘believes’ in Paul Warne and will support him. The Chairman also says that there will be money to spend in the January transfer window.

Whatever happens in the next few weeks the team need our support – they need to know that we are behind them. There has been a lot of negativity in social media amongst us fans and that is understandable but we shouldn’t be looking at the table now and making our minds up that we are already ‘doomed’. Fair enough, it’s not looking great and we can’t be there to encourage the lads but that is exactly what, I believe, we need to do.

Let’s hope for a good game tomorrow and a positive result.

Up The Millers.
