Rotherham United fans have three live Sky games to look forward to throughout February and March.

Wow!

Wednesday, 17th February sees the Millers take on Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium, six days later we entertain Nottingham Forest at the New York Stadium and 3rd March sees us making the short distance to Hillsborough to take on Sheffield Wednesday.

The Millers last travelled to Bournemouth in September 2014 bringing a point back from a one-all draw thanks to a late Jordan Bowery goal. April 2019 saw Forest last on Rotherham soil with the hosts winning two-one while our last trip to S6 was a two-all draw in December 2018.

Personally, I’m never really sure about watching Rotherham live on TV – yes, I have been watching our games on iFollow while we haven’t been able to attend but, I’m guessing, that’s just the fans of the teams playing who will be watching. Opening up our football for the whole world to see (OK, I might be exaggerating a little) is, in my opinion, a different ball game. What if we play badly and we have to hide away from gloating fans of our rivals? What if we play brilliantly and our players come to the notice of other teams. What if it’s a boring nil-nil and people just turn off?

Of course the revenue will be great for the club and, I’m sure, much appreciated. And it will be good for fans who can’t access other media outlets for watching our beloved team.

And there is also the chance if we are doing better than our opposition to sing, albeit at the TV screen, ‘you’ve only come to see the Millers’!
