The Stats – Millers v Lilywhites

Rotherham United didn’t get off to a good Easter weekend seeing them go off at Deepdale at half-time three-nil down to Preston North End.

But what about those stats?

The Millers had thirty-two per cent of possession with Preston having a fifty-three per cent success in all duels, fifty-one per cent in the ariel duels.

There were just four corners in the game, two to each side and the Millers passing accuracy all over the pitch had a seventy-one per cent success rate the Lilywhites success was twelve per cent better. In our opponents half our passing accuracy came out at fifty-five per cent, Preston’s seventy-six.

In attack we had seven shots at goal, four of those from inside the box, and three on target while the hosts had five on target from eighteen shots.

Defence wise our tackle success rate came out at sixty-five per cent, just four per cent less than Preston while we made eighteen clearances to their eight. Both sides conceded thirteen fouls and both were handed two yellow cards.

I think at this state of the proceedings we have to try and find positives. We didn’t concede in the second half has to be one, and although we didn’t score we had three shots on target (which, let’s be honest, is more than we’ve had in some games). The horrendous fifteen minutes or so of hail didn’t put us off (OK, clutching at straws a bit) and the fans kept singing.

Just got to see what Monday brings when Millwall are in town.
