Rotherham United Reserves 2 Bradford City Reserves 0

Rotherham United Reserves got a win at Roundwood yesterday afternoon against Yorkshire rivals Bradford City.

A mostly young Millers started off well with City ‘keeper Lukas Raeder having to make good saves from Joshua Kayode and Jerry Yates. But with just twelve minutes gone he couldn’t do anything to stop Akheem Hinds who got to a cross at the far post to put the hosts in front. A few minutes later only another good save from Raeder kept a superb header from Kayode out. At the other end Millers’ ‘keeper Lewis Price had to be on his toes to keep out a shot from Cameron Hawes. Yates had a couple of chances to double the Millers lead the first which Raeder did well to hold onto, the second going just wide. With a couple of minutes to go in the half Kayode was through but was bundled over in the area with Yates taking and scoring the resulting spot-kick to make it two-nil.

Lewis Price was called on early in the second half to save from Ellis Hudson followed by a great point-blank save from Lukas Raeder at the other end from  Jake Southern-Cooper before defender Daniel Devine did well to block a shot from Yates. With ten minutes to go a cross from Jack Osborne, on for Maguire, found the head of Ben Purrington who saw the ball go just wide which was followed by another good save from Price after a shot from Omari Patrick.
