Rotherham United Manager Paul Warne has nothing but praise for departing skipper Lee Frecklington saying he was his ‘wingman’ in the dressing rooms.

Frecks has left the Millers to re-join his boyhood club, Lincoln City with Warney telling iFOLLOW, ‘He’s been brilliant for us.

‘Most of the good nights at the New York he’s been part of and he’ll go down in Rotherham folklore.

‘I don’t want to see Frecks leave but it’s football. The situation came up and money was offered, it’s not like we were ‘phoning clubs asking them to take him. It’s something he wanted to do and something Lincoln wanted to do.

There comes a crossroads in your career and he’s gone to play for his home town club and everyone here wishes him all the best.

‘It’s now our task to go and sign the next Lee Frecklington who is going to be here in the midfield for four or five years.’
