Rotherham United Manager Paul Warne was as delighted with the clean sheet against Shrewsbury as winning all three points.

Speaking to iFOLLOW the Millers Boss said, ‘We were really pleased with the result, really pleased with the performance and I thought we deserved the win.

‘It was a tough, edgy game with only one goal in it but we kept a clean sheet away from home means my back five are doing really well.

‘We snuffed out most of their attacks and the lads defend from the front to the back with a real energy.

‘Icky (Michael Ihiekwe) came on in the last home game when Joe Mattock went off and I thought he was really good in that game so he kept his place and performed really well. We were pleased with all the back five and are happy that they are taking what we are telling them onto the pitch.’

Not to put a jinx on things but our defending, in my opinion, has come on leaps and bounds in the last few months. There always seems to be someone ‘there’ in the ‘right place’ at the ‘right time’ and I think a lot of that is instinct. Yes, they still mess up sometimes but nine times out of ten get themselves out of that.
