Rotherham United Manager Paul Warne was pleased with the second half and with his first point since accepting the job on a permanent basis yesterday against Birmingham City at the New York Stadium.

Meanwhile Birmingham City Boss Gianfranco Zola, whose head his fans were calling for during the game, said he ‘wasn’t happy.’

Speaking to Birmingham’s Official Site the Italian said, ‘We had different expectations against a team like Rotherham. I sensed difficulties at the start as we wanted to win and needed to win, but at the same time we couldn’t lose.

‘The players were a little bit stuck and in the second half I tried to put a little bit more quality into it going forward. Kerim Frei made an impact and I thought we would win after his goal.

‘I didn’t expect after that beautiful goal we would concede like we did. But we panicked too much, lost a bit of composure and we allowed them to come back.

‘It is understandable that the supporters were disappointed and reacted like they did. But as long as they turn on me and not the players I don’t mind. This is the time we need to be supportive of the players. So, yes, they can have a go at me and I understand that but we need everyone behind the team.’

After the game while the City players were warming-down there was a confrontation between some of them including Lukas Jutkiewicz, Emilio Nsue and Ryan Shotton and after being led away Nsue could still be heard arguing in the dressing rooms later.
