RUFC – Towell Wants To Take Good Momentum Into Play-Offs

|

Rotherham United’s Richie Towell said that although it was nice to get on the score sheet last weekend at Plymouth the result wasn’t so good.

‘I thought we’d played quite well away from home,’ the Brighton loanee told iFOLLOW ,’so to lose the way we did was a bit disheartening. Plymouth are a good side but I thought we played really well. We had two goals disallowed and created eight or nine good chances to score. Putting a performance in like that away from home is good but not getting anything isn’t great. But we’ve had a good weeks training so we’re ready for Saturday.’

‘I didn’t realise what a tight angle my goal was until I saw it back but Bally (David Ball) put it on a plate for me so I had to finish it.

‘Blackpool are a good side as well. The last time we played them probably kick-started the good run we had, so if we can beat them on Saturday and go on another little run that will be great.’

Despite already being in the play-offs Richie said the team are still up for every game saying, ‘Everybody knows that there are places to play for here and nobody will rest on their laurels thinking we’ve done it. We want to keep going until the end of the season and take good momentum going into the play-offs.

‘I’ve really enjoyed it here. The Gaffer, the lads and the coaching staff have been great. I’m lucky that I came to a good club like this and the fans have embraced me as well. It’s been a win-win all round.’
