Rotherham United’s new signing Michael Smith told iFOLLOW that he is ‘chuffed’ to be at the club.

Speaking after putting pen to paper today, the tall striker said, ‘I heard about the interest at the beginning of the week and when I sat down and spoke with Paul Warne I liked what he had to say.’

Starting the game earlier in the season on the bench for Bury at Rotherham, Michael said, ‘I was impressed with the football that Rotherham played and now their league position speaks for itself.

‘There’s twenty or so games to play so it’s all to play for and with the group of lads the Gaffer has got here I don’t think the automatics are out of the way. And confidence is flying high here at the moment.’

Having a training session this morning, the twenty-six year old said, ‘I’ve played with Woody (Richard Wood) and Semi (Ajayi) before at Charlton. I’m looking forward to playing.’

I think the question we fans will be asking is ‘will he start or come on from the bench if needed’ on Saturday.
