Rotherham United Manager, Andy Scott was delighted with his sides one-nil win over Oxford United this afternoon at Don Valley.

Speaking to Radio Sheffield after the game, Scott said, ‘It was a tough game and Oxford are a good side who are expected to be up there, so any win today would have been a good win.

‘I thought we controlled the first half without really creating too many chances and we wanted to start the second half as fast as we did in the first and we did that with a fantastic goal.

‘I thought we looked dangerous and we created a few more chances getting down the sides and balls across the box which we didn`t quite get on the end of. There was a bit of breeze in our faces, which was helping them and then they changed their system and so we changed it a little bit to make us a bit more solid to finish the game off.

‘We kept the ball very well although, at times, we were a bit too slow at what we did in the first half but I`d rather they kept hold and made sure rather than give the ball away aimlessly. And I thought the front three caused them a lot of problems in the first half.

‘We got a good response from the lads and a clean sheet is always a bonus because you build your success on defensive solidity.`
