Rotherham United Manager, Mark Robins, told Radio Sheffield that he has to be careful what he says about Mr Hill, the referee in the game against Grimsby and Rotherham yesterday.

Speaking about the penalty for Grimsby, Robins said, ‘I don’t know what he’s seen. I’ve just been to see him and he’s adament that it was a penalty; he’s adament that Jason Taylor pulled a Grimsby players shirt; he’s adament that he was very close to see it. The linesman doesn’t know why; the fourth official doesn’t know why; I don’t think anyone in the ground knows why. And, that penalty killed the game.

‘I thought today we created enough chances to win two games but we were never going to score because of the way Grimsby defended. For us it was a tale of defensive mistakes and for the first goal we gave the lad too much space inside and it was a poor goal to concede. For the third we were trying to push out and get something from the game and you’re always likely to concede when you do that. I don’t want to be too harsh on my players but there was some kamikaze stuff from us out there and the goals we’ve condeded today were gifts.

‘Andy Warrington made some good stops today. But they cut through us too easily and that’s something we need to address and quickly. We’ve got games coming thick and fast and we need to be more solid than we showed today.’

Speaking about Jamie Green who was taken off with an injury, Robins said, ‘Jamie got a knock to his ankle. He’ll be in on Sunday and we’ll take a look at it then.’
