Rotherham United striker, Reuben Reid, may only be twenty years of age but he’s already been at six different clubs.

‘It’s no secret that I’ve been to a few clubs and things haven’t worked out for me,’ Reid told Yorkshire Sport, ‘but, since I’ve come here it’s been made easy for me to settle in and be part of the team.

‘In the summer I became a free agent and my agent did some phoning around and I came to Rotherham pre-season. I did well and they liked what they saw and it was a case of taking things from there. I’ve always said that as long as I’m playing in the first team and winning then I’m happy – and that’s what I’m doing.’

Reid went onto talk about Millers Manager, Mark Robins, ‘The gaffer has given me a real chance in my life and it’s one I have to fight for. I also have to thank him for doing it and in some way pay him back.’

Reid, who turned his back on becoming a professional cricketer to play football says he still plays cricket quite seriously in the summer. ‘When I was playing properly I used to bat but now I’ve got a bit older and stronger I’m bowling at a good pace. Before I started to play professional football I was embarking on a professional cricket career and I probably could have gone both ways. But, at the moment, football is treating me well and long may it continue.’
