Rotherham United Manager, Ronnie Moore has said that, as far as he knows, there has been no bid from Barnsley for Adam Le Fondre.

Speaking to David Beddows of The Advertiser, Moore said, ‘As far as I know there is nothing in it and even if someone came in with a bid of £3 million it would be difficult to let Alfie go because, at the present time, we’re down to only two fit strikers. And, I don’t see Barnsley being able to come up with a bid like that.

‘Yes, every player wants to play at a higher level and we wouldn’t stand in anyone’s way but the opportunity will come for Alfie. At the moment he has to concentrate on getting us out of League Two. He’s come back to pre-season training looking really sharp.

‘I’m happy not to have had a phone call about Alfie and as long as my phone doesn’t ring then the happier I will be.’
