Rotherham United Manager, Ronnie Moore says that his side are relying too much on striker Adam Le Fondre to get the goals and he wants others to start scoring too.

Alf scored his twentieth and twenty-first goals of the season on Tuesday night in the two-nil win over Dagenham and Redbridge and only Lee Hughes of Notts County has more league goals than him.

Speaking to MillersPlayer, Moore said, ‘We are so dependant on Alfie and we have to touch wood that nothing happens to him.

‘But, we need goals from all over. We don’t get enough from midfield and we don’t get enough from set plays. Kevin Ellison and Nicky Laws’ deliveries are spot on nine times out of ten. You look at Bury’s centre-half, the lad Dawson, he’s got ten goals I think and I don’t think either of our centre-halves have got a goal this season.

‘And no one works harder than Tom Pope but he needs to throw some more goals in there. One big thing as a striker is that you have to come alive in the box and Popey needs to be putting the ball in the back of the net more often.

‘I know the service hasn’t been good all season and we’ve lived on a lot of crumbs and Alfie’s the main man for that. He’s quick and sharp, he drops a shoulder, turns round and it’s in the back of the net.’

Moore was asked if he feared losing Le Fondre in the summer and he said, ‘He’s going no where. Unless someone says here’s four and a half or five million then I think the Chairman will have a re-think! At this present time I’m looking to build for next season with Alfie in the side.’
