The Millers travel to Sincil Bank this weekend and here is a little bit of history between the sides
Rotherham United have had the better of the games against Lincoln City in recent years – winning the last five and drawing one. The last time the Imps beat the Millers at Sincil Bank was in August 1999 when a penalty from Terence Fleming on the hour mark and a goal two minutes later from Lee Philpott gave the home side all three points – although not a clean sheet as Paul Warne scored a last minute consolation for the visitors. Something he won’t be able to do on Saturday as he is injured.
Lincoln City were the first visitors to the Millers temporary home of Don Valley last season and, to say they were unimpressed with the place is a bit of an understatement. We were told afterwards of, among other things, poor stewarding, poor gatemen and a slippy concourse – but, hopefully, that has now been sorted. The only goal of the game was scored by Reuben Reid a minute before half-time.
At Don Valley earlier this season, a goal in each half from Adam Le Fondre gave the Millers a win.
