Rotherham United Manager Steve Evans thought his team were excellent in their win over Wimbledon this afternoon at the New York Stadium.

Speaking after the one-nil win the Millers Boss told Radio Sheffield, ‘I thought we were excellent from start to finish.

‘We didn’t get a break in front of goal and we said at half-time we’d got to be patient and mentally strong and if we did that and kept a clean sheet and were disciplined that the chances would come and we could have won by more but it’s all about winning.’

Evans made a number of changes to the team today with Scott Shearer replacing Andy Warrington in goal and Liam Ridehalgh and Michael O’Connor starting on the bench and being replaced by Kari Arnason and new boy Joe Skarz but the Gaffer said, ‘Did I drop them or did we just use other players? Andy Warrington has done nothing to be dropped and he’ll probably go home tonight a disappointed man but that’s why he’s a good professional and that’s why I didn’t go hunting for a goalkeeper when Scotty was injured. And Scott Shearer might not start on Monday and the reason we brought Joe in in preference to Liam was because we were concerned about the aerial threat. Liam Ridehalgh has been one of our better players in recent weeks and Joe isn’t here to take his place but he’s now competition. We left Michael O’Connor out whose been very good and Ben Pringle was left out.’
