Rotherham United Head Coach Leam Richardson told the Official Site that it was ‘nice to send the fans home with a smile on their faces’ after the Millers got all three points at home to Millwall this afternoon.

Speaking after the two-one win, the Boss said, ‘I knew exactly what Millwall would bring and we wanted to match that, at our home ground, which I think we did that did that in large parts, they are very good and very well coached at what they do. But the main thing is the result.

‘I’m very pleased for the players but most importantly I’m very pleased that the fans, who I felt for on Friday, can go home with a smile on their faces. They’ve turned up today to support their team which is really pleasing because it’s easy to support your team when you are winning but the time to support your team is when they need you the most. And we needed them the most today and they gave us that.

‘And there’s credit to certain players who kept putting themselves out there, kept making themselves available for what we’ve got ahead of us when it would have been easier not to.’

‘I’ve spoken to the Chairman and it’s very positive, very buoyant moving forward and we want to be a better version of ourselves. I’ve probably not seen this club at it’s best in fact, I’ve probably seen it at it’s worst. But I love a challenge and my job is to make sure we come through this in a better shape and today is kind of a start in that.’

Seb Revan scored the first goal today which was his first senior goal with Leam saying he was ‘happy’ saying, ‘for a young lad to come out on loan in a situation like we are in and since I’ve come into the building he’s been making himself available and putting himself out there, so fair play to the kid for doing that. And fair play to Charlie (Wyke)(who scored the second goal) who came to Rotherham when they are on the floor when a lot of players in January didn’t want to do it.’
