Rotherham Reserves 1 Mansfield Reserves 3

Despite going ahead in the first five minutes Rotherham United Reserves lost out to their Mansfield Town counterparts this afternoon at Roundwood.

Tyrone Lewthwaite scored on four minutes with the Millers first shot at goal when he put the ball into the bottom of the next past Stags’ ‘keeper Jake Kean. Just minutes later the visitors equalised with a goal from Callum Butcher before Jacques Etia came close to putting the Millers back in front only for a defender to kick the ball off the line to safety. Former Rotherham loanee Will Atkinson put the ball wide just before the break which saw the teams go in level.

Ten minutes into the second half Will Atkinson made it two-one to Mansfield which Laurence Bilboe in the Millers net did well to get a hand to but couldn’t keep the ball out of the net. After an injury to Mansfield ‘keeper Jake Kean which left him concussed outfield player Blake went in goal. Rotherham came close to equalising from Jacques Etia but a retreating defender took the ball off him before he could get a shot away and five minutes later Mansfield made it three-one when substitute Anderson found Otis Khan who put the ball into the net.
