Rotherham United beat a young Grimsby Town side this afternoon at Cheapside – but as good as the win is the news that Darren Potter got another sixty minutes under his belt.

First teamers Matt Palmer and Jerry Yates also started the game for the Millers alongside a French trialists.

The Millers went two up in the first half with the trialists and Yates scoring, his goal coming from the penalty spot after Jacob Gratton was brought down in the area.

Gratton was in the thick of the third goal which came twenty minutes into the second half when he rounded Town’s trialist ‘keeper and sent the ball to Joshua Kayode who headed in at close range. With just a few minutes left on the clock Rumarn Burrell scored for the hosts.
