The referee chosen to officiate at Millmoor on Saturday versus Chesterfield is Dermot j Gallagher from Oxford.

Dermot J. Gallagher is an English referee who represents Oxfordshire FA. He was formerly a high-profile official for the F.A. Premier League, but he was removed from the list after an August 2006 match between Manchester City and Portsmouth F.C., when he failed to send off Man City defender Ben Thatcher for a challenge in which he led with his forearm and gave the Portsmouth player, Pedro Mendes, a severe concussion. He gave Thatcher only a yellow card, which implied that he had seen the incident, but thought it was not worthy of a red card.
He has been on the National list of Referees since 1990 and between 1994 and 2002 Dermot was on the FIFA list.

In his complete history as a Referee he has taken charge of 362 games, showing 886 Yellows (2.44 per game) and 56 reds.

This season his record is 16 games, 35 yellows and 4 reds.

He has officiated at 4 Millers games over the years, which were…
25/10/2004 Rotherham 0 Sunderland 1 (2 Yellows)
6/12/2003 MK Dons 1 Rotherham 2 (2 Yellows)
23/3/2002 Rotherham 1 Man City 1 (5 Yellows)
7/4/2001 Millwall 4 Rotherham 0 (3 Yellows, 1 Red)

Mr Gallagher will be assisted by Nick Kinseley Essex and Barry C Sygmuta from Yorkshire.
4th official will be Anthony Taylor from Cheshire.
