Rotherham United’s first game of the season sees them travel to take on Stoke City when John Busby from Oxfordshire has the whistle.

John was promoted to the Football League for the start of the 2016/17 season and this will be just the third time he has been in the middle for a Millers game.

The first time was back in October 2019 when Rotherham travelled to Portman Road where two goals from Matt Crooks gave the visitors a two-nil win over Ipswich Town. Of the four yellow cards that day Billy Jones, Joe Mattock and Trevor Clarke saw three of them.

It was last season in December at the Hawthorns that John last had a Millers game which saw West Bromwich Albion win three-nil.  Cameron Humphreys and Georgie Kelly were shown yellow cards that day.

Last season John was in the middle for thirty-three games showing one hundred and twenty—nine yellow cards and four red.

Running the line on Saturday we have Richard Wild and Jonathan Hunt and the Fourth Official will be Tom Nield.
