Rotherham United’s first derby game of the season sees Sheffield Wednesday the visitors to the New York Stadium on Saturday where the referee is Marc Edwards.
Being in his third season as a Football League Referee March and the Millers have met just once before which was in October 2019 in a Football League Trophy game when Doncaster Rovers were the visitors in Rotherham. Rotherham went in front thanks to an own goal from Joe Wright on eleven minutes with Kieran Sadlier, then with Rovers, equalising. Wright scored in the correct goal nine minutes into the second half but Carlton Morris and Trevor Clarke gave the hosts a three-two win. There were no cards in the game.
This will be Marc’s first outing this season but last season in the thirty-two games he was in charge of he showed one hundred yellow cards but just one red one which was to Ollie Rathbone then of Rochdale.
Running the line on Saturday we have Anthony Da Costa and Kevin Morris while Ian Smedley will be the Fourth Official.
