Rotherham United released five players at the end of last season, one of them being midfielder Darren Potter who today has joined fellow League One side Tranmere Rovers.

Beginning his career with Liverpool the now thirty-four-year-old counts Wolverhampton Wanderers, Sheffield Wednesday and MK Dons, who he left to join the Millers, as his former clubs.

The summer of 2017 saw Darren sign a two year deal with the Millers but two operations on an Achilles injury saw him make just nineteen appearances, the last one being the final game of last season when he came off the bench for the last twenty-five minutes.

Potter, who is local to Tranmere told their Official Site, ‘I’ve got a lot of experience from playing over the years so I just want to add to a team and a squad that is on the up. I’m really pleased to join this club.’

Once again, I hope this is a player who doesn’t come back to ‘bite us on the bum’ so to speak. Saying that, all at Vital Rotherham wish Darren ‘all the best’ for his future.
