Rotherham United have given Sean Morrison a one year contract,  subject to EFL and FA ratification.

The thirty-two year old signed a short term deal in January this year with the Millers although it was rather a shorter deal than expected when injury allowed him just two games.

Hailing from Plymouth Sean came through the youth ranks with Argyle before being released and joining Swindon Town who he went on to play more than fifty senior games for. January 2011 saw him move to Reading and while with the Royals had two loan spells at the John Smith’s Stadium with Huddersfield Town. August 2014 saw him join Cardiff City who he made almost three hundred appearances for before he came to Rotherham in January.

Speaking to iFollow Sean said he is looking forward to getting back to football and wants to repay Matt Taylor, the Millers Manager, for having ‘faith in me’. ‘Even though I only played a couple of games I loved my time here,’ Sean said, ‘and I had conversations with the Manager towards the end of the season about staying and, for me, once we’d had those conversations it was kind of a done deal. Thankfully I’m here today and I’ve signed on for another year. It’s been a tough fifteen months but hopefully that’s all behind me now and I’m working hard to make sure I’m available as much as possible.’

All at Vital Rotherham welcome Sean back to the New York Stadium.
