Rotherham United have confirmed that Billy Jones, Shaun MacDonald, Jamie Proctor, Clark Robertson and Kyle Vassell have been released as of the end of June.

Welsh International Shaun joined the Millers from Wigan in June 2019 playing thirty-seven games while Central-defender Clark Robertson came to the New York Stadium from Blackpool in the summer of 2018 making sixty-nine appearances, sixteen of those this season, where injury has kept him out, and wading in with five goals.

Thirty-four year old Billy Jones came to the Millers from Sunderland in July 2018, signing a new one year deal last summer. Having played forty-one times in a Rotherham shirt, his last game being in the FA Cup game at Goodison Park when he came off the bench for extra time, he went out on loan to Crewe in January playing a handful of games.

Another player joining Rotherham from Blackpool was forward Kyle Vassell making his debut in August 2018 going on to make sixty-five appearances scoring six times. In January he went to Fleetwood Town on loan making playing twenty-five times scoring four goals.

Well travelled Jamie Proctor came to the New York Stadium in July 2017 for an undisclosed fee from Bolton Wanderers. A great pre-season came to an early halt when he was stretchered off with a broken leg just six games into the season. He made eighteen appearances the following season and a handful at the beginning of the 2019/20 season before going out on loan to Scunthorpe then National League side Fylde and spent this season firstly with Newport County then from January with League One outfit Wigan.

All at Vital Rotherham wish the players ‘all the best’ for their futures.
