McCart To Stop At Barnsley

Rotherham United Head Coach Leam Richardson has told Radio Sheffield that he ‘can’t’ recall centre-half Jamie McCart from Barnsley.

‘The decision was made before I came here,’ the Millers Boss confirmed today. ‘There’s a contractual agreement that both parties have to agree too and Barnsley want to keep him. I can’t control that as I wasn’t here so the decision was taken out of my hands.’

A shame for the Millers really as they are very short on centre-halves and Jamie would have been, I’m sure, welcome back.

Peter Kioso was recalled from his loan spell with Peterborough yesterday with Leam saying, ‘I’ve followed Peter’s career for some time, competed against him and he’s got qualities he carries as a professional and as a person. He enjoyed his time at Peterborough. He comes back to us at full fitness and he’s an individual that will enhance our group.’

Asked about any new faces coming in, the Rotherham Head Coach said, ‘I’d like to add quality and competition for places and we are having conversations so fingers crossed’.

What a pathetic agreement by now gone Taylor. Why call it a loan at all its a giveaway based on a need for both parties to agree his return. We must have thought McCart was so bad that Barnsley would want to send him back. How wrong was Taylor! How amateur as was also shown by his allowing Kioso to play in the FA Cup for Peterborough. Kioso Cup tied and with a reduced value to any other club again a foolish move.Weve been loan arrangers for years so how was such basic mistakes possible? Taylor must have rolled over to the mastery of the Fry led setup but to be shafted by Barnsley is a joke and will no doubt cause bad blood for many years. It just stinks of personality clashes between Taylor and his players.McCart is a fit 25 year old who was shunned by Warne and Taylor but seems to be a success at Barnsley. He will eventually return and probably move on back to his native Scotland . His spell at Barnsley should equip him well for his next permanent move and good luck to him. I reckon Georgie Kelly was also shut out by Taylor but his ability to score significant goals and fan pressure kept him on board but I’m not sure it will last now Eaves is improving.

I’d like to think Georgie Kelly would get a start tonight, Bryan. See what he can do over ninety minutes instead of the odd five or ten. I feel so sorry for McCart. We brought him from his native home promising him League football with Rotherham. At least he’s getting it with Barnsley.
