Rotherham United’s latest loan signing Leo Hjelde told iFollow that he is looking forward to playing for the Millers for the next six months.

Speaking after signing yesterday from Leeds United the nineteen year old defender said, ‘For me it was quite an easy decision to join, one of the factors was being able to travel from Leeds every morning so I can live at home. And I think it will be a good platform for me to move forward.’

After his first training session as a Miller, Leo said, ‘The staff and the players were so welcoming and a joy to be working with.’

And asked about his attributes to Rotherham he said, ‘I’m good defensively, quite quick and comfortable on the ball and I like to keep the ball moving.’

Manager Matt Taylor was pleased to get his man and said, ‘He’s got a good pedigree. He’s had time up in Scotland where he’s experienced a relegation battle and I think he’s going to learn a lot about his game in the coming months in the Championship. He’s another player who will give us flexibility. He can play left-back, centre-half, in a back three as well as playing up the pitch. He’s got good energy, is a good athlete and is good quality and will be an influence on the pitch.’
