Rotherham United have just over a week before they play their next game which is a Friday night televised home game against Leeds United.

But who will be in charge in the dugout?

At the moment we have three interim ‘managers’ in Scott Brown, Wayne Carlisle and Dan Green who will oversee the training etc until a new boss is appointed.

But when will that be?

At first we (that’s the royal ‘we’ of course) rather suspected that the Millers already had someone on the brink of moving in – but, whether that wasn’t the case in the first place or that person or persons or the Chairman has had a change of heart we don’t know.

Mr Stewart has since told The Advertiser that the club are ‘flattered by the calibre of candidates we’re getting’ and that ‘sometimes the best deal takes a bit longer.’

Whether the person the club want is still in a job and that, obviously, will involve more negotiations could be the reason for that last comment. Or maybe it’s because the person wanted is taking more time to persuade.

Whoever does come in will be coming to a club that is sitting uncomfortably in the bottom three of the table and hasn’t won a game away from home since November last year – and that is something that certainly needs to change.

So, really, there is no new news on who might be coming in.  Just speculation.
