Alan Knill told Radio Sheffield that he knows Tranmere will be a hard place to go.

He said ‘It will be hard but when we are at our best we can beat anyone.’

He was asked if it was a different game because of ex Rotherham United manager Ronnie Moore being at the helm of Tranmere and he said ‘Not to my players, no. No disrespect to Ronnie or John Breckin but none of my players know them and to us it is just another game we need to try and win.’

‘I will be glad when this Christmas period is over. We have been unlucky with injuries and have had to use everyone in the squad.’

He was then asked about his New Year wish list, ‘to keep Williamson and Hoskins – there may have to be adjustments to the squad but we will ride it out – and to be in a position in the league which is comfortable.’

‘I would like to bring in 2 or 3 players to strengthen the team which will bring competition to the squad.’
