Rotherham United have had a number of players going out on loan since the beginning of the season but how are they fairing . . .

Midfielders Curtis Durose and Mackenzie Warne were the first two to go out on loan both with Gainsborough Trinity who play in the Premier Division of the Northern Premier League.

Mack has been in the Millers’ Youth squads for the past ten years and signed his first contract in October last year. He’s made one appearance for the first team in Papa John’s Trophy game against a Manchester City U21 side. He went on to play three times for Trinity before returning to the New York Stadium with an injury.

Twenty-two year old Curtis started his career in the Nottingham Forest Academy joining Rotherham’s set-up for the 2020/1 season. He signed a professional contract for the Millers in October 2021 his only first team appearance also coming in the Papa John’s Trophy against the City U21 team. After his initial loan spell with Trinity Curtis extended the deal until January. So far he has made fourteen appearances and scored three goals his first coming in the FA Cup First Qualifying Round against Loughborough University and in that game he was voted the Man of the Match.

After getting injured in a pre-season friendly, the end of August saw striker Joshua Kayode go out on loan to League One outfit MK Dons. JJ joined came through the Millers Youth set-up making his first team debut in the Papa John’s Trophy in August 2017. He’s made thirty-three appearances in all competitions for Rotherham his first league goal coming in February 2022 away at Wimbledon. So far the twenty-two year old has played in six games for MK Dons.

Academy graduate Jake Hull signed his first professional contract in August 2020 making his debut the following year in the Papa Johns’ Trophy against Doncaster Rovers scoring his first first team goal. He also scored in the following game in the same competition. The centre-half went out on an initial months loan at the end of last month to Boston United playing in their two FA Cup Qualifying game.

The last player to go out on loan is forward Ciaran McGuckin. The eighteen year old joined the Millers in 2014 making his debut in the Papa John’s Trophy game against a Manchester City U21 side in October last year. Ciaran joined Scarborough Athletic of the Northern Premier League last week coming on for the last thirty minutes against Kettering.

We wish all our loaned out players ‘all the best’ while they are away from the Millers.
