Rotherham United have had three players out with their National teams in this International break with all three getting caps.

Goalkeeper Viktor Johansson made his debut for the Sweden side in their three-nil friendly win over Moldova at the Friends Arena. The Millers Number One took over after the half-time break from Kristoffer Nordfeldt to get his first cap keeping a clean sheet in the process.

Viktor, who already had International caps at U17, U19 and U21 levels, has made over one hundred appearances for Rotherham since joining in September 2020 from Leicester City and has gained many Man of the Match accolades over the three years including in our last Championship game at Southampton.

Northern Irish striker Ciaran McGuckin came through the youth ranks with Rotherham making three Championship appearances this season. He started in Northern Ireland’s U21 UEFA Euro qualifier this week and headed home the only goal of the game to give them a win away against the Azerbaijan U21 side.

Also on International duty was loanee defender Dexter Lembikisa who arrived at the New York Stadium in the summer on a season long loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers. The nineteen year old has made twelve appearances in a Millers shirt, scoring the first goal in our two-one home win over Norwich City. Dexter was called up for the Jamaican National team for their CONCACAF Nations League matches and he came off the bench to make his seventh appearance to replace Tayvon Gray at half-time in their four-one win against Grenada at the Kirani James Athletic Stadium.

Well Done Boys!

Sweden have another game on Monday when they travel to Belgium for a UEFA EURO 2024 Qualifier, Northern Ireland’s U21 team are at home for a UEFA EURO 2025 U21 Qualifier against Serbia’s U21 side on Monday while Jamaica continue in their CONCACAF Nations League games when they move to take on Haiti at the Hasely Crawford Stadium in Trinidad and Tobago also on Monday.
