Rotherham United make the long trek down to Loftus Road to take on QPR for their next game in the Championship.

Last time out at Loftus Road in August 2022 saw Chieo Ogbene put the Millers in front on thirty-three minutes with Chris Willock getting the equaliser two minutes before the break giving each team a point each.

November 2020 also saw the pair at Loftus Road, in the league when Ilias Chair put the ball in the net at the second time of asking to give the hosts the lead on twenty minutes. A Wes Harding cross eighteen minutes later saw Michael Smith head home the equaliser before an angled strike from Bright Osayi-Samuel put Rangers back in front on the stroke of half-time. Worse was to come for the visitors when their opponents were awarded a free-kick which Dan Barlaser was adjudged to handle in the area with Lyndon Dykes making it three-one from the penalty area going into the break. Michael Ihiekwe had a goal ruled out for offside in the second half before a header from him on eighty-four minutes rebounded off the post to Freddie Ladapo who made it three-two which is how the game ended.

On a Wednesday night in March 2019 the Millers travelled to London which saw the first forty-five minutes end goalless. The Millers took the lead on the seventy-first minute from a fantastic twenty-five yard strike from Semi Ajayi with the host equalising fourteen minutes later thanks to Bright Osayi-Samuel. But an Anthony Forde free-kick late into stoppage time found the head of Ajayi who made it two-one to the visitors giving Rotherham their first away victory against Rangers since 1951.

Rotherham and QPR also met at Loftus Road in March 2017. Matt Smith smashed the ball into the net on just five minutes with Joe Newell’s twenty-five yard strike giving the Millers an equaliser. On the quarter-of-an-hour slot Rangers took the lead again this time from Luke Freeman. Four minutes into the second half a foul on Smith by Aymen Belaid in the area saw the hosts go further in front from a Yeni Ngbakoto spot-kick before Massimo Luongo’s first goal for the club put QPR four-one up. Nedum Onuoha made it five-one in the last minute of the game.

The season before this fixture was in August and again saw six goals. Tjaronn Chery scored three minutes before half-time and again five minutes into the second half with Charlie Austin making it three-nil thirteen minutes later. Jonson Clarke-Harris and Tom Thorpe brought it back to three-two but a last minute penalty from Austin gave the hosts a win. Austin and Lewis Buxton of the Millers saw yellow on the afternoon.

August 2004 saw Gareth Ainsworth open the scoring for the hosts on five minutes but ten minutes later the Millers were level after a goal from Paul Shaw.

The time before that when the sides met in London was when both were in the old Division Two in March 1983 which saw QPR win four-nil – that was also the season the two had met in the League Cup which saw the Millers win.

The game at the New York Stadium in November was a one-all draw, Ilias Chair putting the visitors in front on fifty minutes with Georgie Kelly equalising twenty minutes later.
