Rotherham United’s next away game takes them to the City Ground where they take on Nottingham Forest.
The last time the pair met at Nottingham was in September 2018 when the first half brought no shots from either side and it looked like some stubborn defending from the Millers would be good enough for them to take a point back home to South Yorkshire. But with four minutes to go Ryan Williams brought down Ben Osborn in the area and former Rotherham striker Lewis Grabban stepped up to the mark to score the resulting penalty and give the hosts all three points.
The two also met at the City Ground in January 2017 which saw Semi Ajayi make his debut for the visitors. After a goalless first half Britt Assombalonga was felled in the area five minutes into the second half, picked himself up and scored from the spot and despite Rotherham making Forest ‘keeper Stephen Henderson work for his money it was Assombalonga on the seventy-first minute who made it two-nil to keep the Millers at the bottom of the league and see Forest go up to eighteenth.
Easter Monday 2007 saw the teams meet at the City Ground in what was a ‘must win’ game for both sides, the Millers trying to avoid relegation and Forest trying to get promotion. Chris O’Grady opened the scoring on ten minutes smashing the ball past Forest ‘keeper Paul Smith but eleven minutes later Craig Fleming was adjudged to have brought down Nathan Tyson and the referee pointed to the spot. Grant Holt put the resulting spot-kick past Neil Cutler in the Millers goal.
The last time the Millers beat Forest at the City Ground was in April 1955 when goals from Gladstone Guest and Jack Grainger gave the Millers a two-nil win.
The first ever league game at the City Ground between the two was in September 1919 with Forest being four-one winners.
