Vital Rotherham United are sad to here the passing of former Millers player and manager Billy McEwan.

Born in Scotland the midfielder joined the Millers in 1979 going on to make around one hundred appearances before hanging up his boots moving into management three years later with Sheffield United. He returned to Millmoor as manager in 1988 guiding Rotherham to the Fourth Division Championship.

Leaving Millmoor in 1991 the following year he took over at Darlington then twice had the caretaker job with Derby County followed by management with York City and Mansfield Town. In March 2010 he was appointed technical director of the Antigua and Barbuda Football Association and the following month became manager of Antigua Barracuda.
