Rotherham United’s FA Cup run didn’t last long after losing one-nil away against Premier League outfit Fulham last night.
But what about those stats?
The Millers had thirty-four per cent of possession and won seventy-six per cent of the aerial duels and sixty-five per cent of duels over all.
There were twelve corners in the game all of which went Fulham’s way while our passing accuracy in our opponents box came out at fifty-four per cent, the Cottagers getting eighty-three per cent. Crossing accuracy for Fulham was twenty-one per cent which was just one per cent better than the Millers.
In attack we had three shots at goal, all from inside the box, with none on target while the hosts had four on target from twenty-one shots.
Our tackle success rate was seventy-nine per cent (twenty-nine per cent better than Fulham) while they gave away ten fouls to our ten. There were no cards shown in the game.
I actually thought we played to our strengths last night against a good Fulham side. With a bit more luck and umph we just might have got a replay and, of course, we have the likes of Johansson and Morrison who helped the score stay at just one. But we didn’t roll over once they’d scored and I like that attitude plus I’m not feeling the doom and gloom around that I felt a few weeks ago.
