Rotherham United have been drawn against Stockport County in the next round of the FA Cup which will be the fourth time the pair have played together in this competition.
The first time was in December 1972 at Edgeley Park was a one-nil win for Stockport. In November 1990 the pair met at Millmoor when a Mark Dempsey goal gave the hosts the win.
Last meeting in this competition was in November 1993 at Millmoor. Goals from Lee Todd and Andy Preece for Stockport with Rotherham getting a consolation from the penalty spot which Chris Wilder scored.
The last time the pair met was in a League Two game in January 2011 at the Millers temporary home of the Don Valley Stadium. An Aaron Brown own goal, two from Ryan Taylor and another from Adam Le Fondre saw Rotherham win four-nil.
Rotherham got to this round by beating non-league Bromley in the first round at the New York Stadium. Two minutes before half-time Ben Wiles opened the scoring for the hosts with Freddie Ladapo making it two before the break. A poor challenge on Chieo Ogbene saw Haji Mnoga sent-off with Will Grigg making it three-nil ten minutes from time.
To get to this game Stockport first overcame Stamford three-nil at Edgeley Park, goals from Ryan Croasdale, Paddy Madden (pen) and Scott Quigley which led to an away tie at the University of Bolton Stadium against Bolton Wanderers. Quigley put the visitors in front but Eion Doyle and Eilas Kachunga put Bolton in the lead with Ben Whitfield equalising for County on the stroke of half-time which is how the game ended. The replay at Edgeley Park was an eight goal thriller. Bolton were two up in six minutes but a Paddy Madden penalty halved the deficit but only for four minutes with the visitors making it three-one. Quigley and Andy Palmer took the game to three-all and into extra time where Quigley and Ollie Crankshaw made it five-three to the hosts.
